Current and upcoming Irregular Wars Wargaming projects
It's been a little while since I've given any sort of update for Irregular Wars Wargaming projects, so here's the current state of play.

I spent much of the day with Andy T filming a playthrough of Fantastic Scuffles, so that will be available in the coming weeks to give people a taste of the game play. It was a close fought scuffle, and I won't spoil it by saying who smote whom.

For those of you based on this island, I have aspirations to run some demo/participation games at Gaelcon 38 in Dublin at the end of October. This would be my first 'proper' wargaming convention, so fingers crossed!

I continue to dabble with the new two-player campaign variant for Fantastic Battle. It is not forgotten, just nudged aside by a couple of other projects for the time being.
***
The new title, Ilium: A Game of Heroes, is nearing completion. A bit more playtesting and photography still to do, but August/September looks like a likely release date. Note however, that I'd rather delay that, than release half-cocked, so actual release date TBC.
Below are a draft version of the cover, the contents pages and one of the hero profiles. You can see Orestix has done a great job creating Late Bronze Age Aegean-inspired works of art for the illustrations - each is directly inspired by specific archaeological objects and frescos.

Various people have now asked about a sci-fi version of Fantastic Scuffles. As I've posted before, this is something I have been looking into and have playtested a few times now. It is not yet clear whether it should be a free pdf mod to Fantastic Scuffles, or a full stand-alone game. Working title: Galactic Scuffles.

Lastly, and unrelated to the previous tidbit, I have also started working with a new artist, Michael Sean Piper, to illustrate a mysterious new project. The first sketches have come through, and all I can say is that they got me pretty excited! But more on that another time!
