Dark and devious developments for Devilry Afoot

With Halloween looming into view, work has been going on in the background to bring a new free expansion booklet to life for Devilry Afoot. This year, the focus will be on running hunting parties entirely composed of wolf-bitten characters or secret witches, delving into those existing notions with expanded rules.

Along side those new ways of playinging, the expansion will include a capricious new monster, the Gentleman, and rules for boggy terrain and will-o'-the-wisps.

Realisticly, anything from a sphere of light, a candle, or even just a piece of coton wool would workfor a will-o'-the-wisp. However, I chose to go with this little  is a 15mm air elemental from Alternative Armies. You can't see it in the photo, but the mud textured base has a layer of clear nail varnish unter the tufts to simulat water-logged terrain.

The Gentleman is a Wargames Foundry English Civil War civilian, cut off at the knees, with his lower legs replaced by some goat legs from a spare 3d printed Duncan Shadow goat. He's based on the idea of a fairy gentleman from Irish and Scotish folklore.

The rules themselves are coming together well with a couple of folks giving them a good playtest. Below are a couple of photos sent back by Giulio, pitching a werewolf pack against a vampyre and his ghouls, trying his best not to eat the innocent...

This weekend I was also invited to run some gamnes of Devilry Afoot (and Wargears) at the opening of the new location for Clare Gaming and Hobbies in Ballyclare. We ran through multiple games of both over the course of the day, leaving me hoarse from talking and just a little knackered!

... and a last note just to say that sometimes you should read the comments section! This from the Devilry Afoot Facebook page.
