Irregular Wars Wargaming

The sixth wargear to be completed is this awesomely chunky chap from Grim Prints.    This is the version equipped with a siege canon, based on a 60x80mm base. And finally, here is a shot of the six wargears all together in their box.

The next wargear out of the starting blocks is a speedy hovercar. This is a 3d sculpt by sergioinglese , available for free on Thingiverse and printed for me in resin by the lads at Bristol 5 Games.  This mini hits the spot with its retro sci-fi vibe, tarted up with a few decals including a custom sponsorship logo from Irregular Wars... The glass (windows and headlights) all got a coat of nail polish wo give them a reflective lustre. It looks great in hand, but apparently makes it much harder to photograph!

Two more whacky wargears completed for the super secret "beer and pretzels" project underway. The goblin bike is made from parts of an utterly charming 3D printed set of multipart bikes from Mezgike Miniatures. For now I only need one, but there are pieces there to make four more unique little gobbos and it is quite tempting! The walker is another multipart 3D printed kit, this time from Filamentio, with a couple of transfers from ForgottenChapters.

Having recently painted my first 28mm tank/APC , this week I finished off this rather dinky rat-wheel from DakkaDakka. But what mysterious force is driving me to do this? The wheel is supposed to have a large laser cannon (or similar) on the left hand side, but the piece didn't fit too well, and sure, I didn't really need it anyway. Instead I popped a wee nuclear symbol in the spot. Perhaps the wheel is driven by something more punchy than diesel.  Now there are two of them...

I may have accidentally added an armoured personnel carrier to the Flores Minor Ranger Corp... This is Wombat 3, the newest support unit for my sci-fi halflings.  I say 'accidentally', as I wasn't really meaning to do this at all. We have just got a SLA 3D printer at work, and I was playing around with scaling models and layer levels when I came across the wheeled APC on Thingiverse, designed by Kristopher Wall .  Turns out, I really loved the model and scaled it appropriately for my halfies, just in case the print quality was good enough. At 0.16mm layers, this took a few hours to print, but the quality is first class! And thus Wombat 3 was printed - and got an immediate coat of paint along with a tank commander from Max Mini's line of space halflings. Here it is next to a Max Mini commander, and a converted special operative in powered armour. The APC itself is on a 60x80mm base - mainly for storage purposes.
