Fantastic Scuffles - kobolds vs adventurers
Last week Andy T and I got together again for a quick game of Fantastic Scuffles in preparation for a wee filmed playthrough we have scheduled in the coming weeks. I ran a small 100 point party of itinerant adventurers - Lyra the halfling treasure hunter, Crom the ogre warrior, and Balthazar the human seer. Andrew was bold enough to run a 100 point party of kobolds - Sir Bert d'Hoomin, three spear-bearers, two dagger lads, two slingers and a loot golem.
The gryphon now rediscovered it's courage and charged back into the fray, hitting and wounding Looty who, in his own activation turned and, instead of attacking the ogre, swung and killed the beast, depriving the adventurers of their objective victory points. However, thus exposed, the golem then received an ogre's axe to the back, severing its life-source and returning it to a pile of shiny loot.
With a final blast of Balthazar's chain lightning and another bolt or two from Lyra's crossbows, the spear-bearers fell, leaving Sir Bert the last man/kobolds (plural - don't forget Patsy) standing. That was enough for him, and he was off, leaving the adventurers victorious and still upright. At least until next time...
The adventurers had been contracted to slay a fierce gryphon that had been bothering the local livestock. The kobolds, tired of the adventurers' own bothersome activities, set up an ambush to get rid of them once and for all.
As the three adventurers cautiously advanced, Lyra tried in vain to turn invisible. The two kobold slingers unleased their weapons on Balthazar who, first cast an ineffective burst of chain lightning, and then used the push spell to knock one of the slingers right off the table.
The kobolds pressed on, trying to surround the adventurers while keeping out of the way of their blades.
While Lyra and Balthazar dealt with the kobold minions, Crom charged into the gryphon, crashing into the fantastic beast and causing a massive four wounds. While the ogre was distracted, Sir Bert (mounted piggy-back on Patsy) charged into his rear, wounding him as well.
The wounded gryphon fled from the ogre, making room for the loot golem to charge him from the front - ensuring Sir Bert was able to keep attacking Crom's rear. The dagger-wielding kobolds then went to take down Balthazar, but he used another blast of chain lightning to kill one and wound the other. This allowed Lyra to pop off a couple of shots with her crossbow pistols to finish off the poor wounded kobold.

However, thus exposed, the golem then received an ogre's axe to the back, severing its life-source and returning it to a pile of shiny loot.
Still hoping to secure victory, the kobold spearmen finally closed on Balthazar, catching him facing the wrong way. With a series of savage stabs, they wounded the wizard badly, but not quite badly enough to put him out of action.
