Romano-British tribal levy

After a bit of a hiatus, here is the third shieldwall unit for my 10mm Romano-British army, built for Fantastic Battles. I have tried to build this unit to represent the levy of a tribal chiefdom/kingdom using the Pendraken Late Roman Saxon militia and Medieval Welsh spearmen to give a beardy, round shieldy vibe.

Here's where we're at to date. Once again, slow progress, but progress none-the-less. I have a few more characters, another cavalry unit and some skirmishing archers to do for the 1,000 point army I intended, but will also re-base some of my older Early Medieval stuff to give more options.

  1. Excellent, makes me want to get on with my stalled 15mm Arthurian project, I only got 8 companies done before I got carried away with other projects.

    1. It's easy done. I work much better to a specific project (preferably shared). I don't have an opponent building a 5th century British or Irish force as an opponent at the moment, so while it is a period and range that I love, the drive to complete the project is a bit sluggish.

  2. They look great, they have always been a army that I've been interested in.
